EMC Data Protection Advisor provides the visibility necessary for your organization to finally understand all of the details in managing large and complex data protection environments (backup and replication).
DPA's Recoverability Analysis works by talking to both the Storage Arrays and the Application servers in an environment. It correlates data from both areas, and constructs a topology that links Application to File system, File system to Disk Volume Group, Disk Volume Group to LUN; this detail is later combined with details from the storage array to map the primary devices with all replicas.
