Thank you Paul!

just found your videos, great stuff! I have recently started playing with modeling paste in my paintings on canvas...what would you say the difference is between joint compund & acrylic modeling paste? I was also an elementary art teacher for many years!

@Paulol100 Thanks, I was an elementary art teacher for 31 years so it must be in my nature to share, educate and instruct!

Great! Bravo! Thanks for sharing so many artists don't do this Ann

the product used to seal the texture (two hands. Between one and the other must wait for drying?), Is the same product used at the end of the job?
For colors I can use any acrylic tube, in any case what kind of Liquitex acrylic?
Please ask someone to write the names of the products you use, because the videos are not able to read ...
Thanks, this technique is passionate but I still have not got to experience it, but once you know exactly what to buy, I will definitely o)

@4614Maria @4614Maria 1.SHEETROCK (brand name) light weight all purpose joint compound 2. LIQUITEX (brand name) acrylic polymer gloss medium (Yes, every thing must dry between each step.) 3. LIQUITEX acrylic paint in tubes. Now I have to tell you that many different products will work well - you do not have to use exactly what I have used. Experiement!

Im going to assume you use non-toxic paints?

@AJDilly Of course! At least it is stated on each tube of Liquitex paint: "non-toxic" and I use Liquitex exclusively. BEst.

From the video and the comment threads I gathered: the board prep work, texturing, and painting in layers with polymer seals. However, I was wondering, once the texturing is done and the joint compound has dried, do you move straight to painting? Is there a layer between the dried compound and the first layer of paint? Also, is your last layer a thick layer of polymer gloss medium or is it any other media like a glaze or varnish? Amazing work! Thank you for taking the time to share & inspire.

@ldrobles1 Hello and thanks for the positives! I do apply TWO coats to seal the joint compound before I apply any paint. (I most often do some light sanding before sealing the thoroughly dry joint compound.) For my final coating of polymer - I mix matte polymer medium with gloss polymer medium to get a satin finish for the final product.
