Glasgow Skye Pipeband sponsored by Phoenix Honda performing at the top of Grade II at the British Pipeband Championships Birmingham, 28 June 2008.

The band performed in The Scottish Tattoo in 2002 at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, of which I have fond memories. Well done Pipe Major Craig Campbell and the band - Grade I beckons once again.

  • is that the smith ancient tartan?

  • MacLeod of Skebost is the tartan - fitting for a band with Skye heritage.

  • can anyone tell me the tune names and in order. I watched the warm up and performance at the british in birmingham and was blown away. Fantastic Band

  • Not me but I will email the band and ask them to input the detail.

  • A harsh judge!

    Sounds good to me!

  • I was at the British Championships and one of the bands that alot of us neutral pipers went home raging about was Skye...their warm up was better than some of the other bands performances. They are also one of the best turned out bands I have seen in years and along with Buchan do not sem to get the credit they deserve...Grade 1 beckons for Skye methinks.

  • Well in, 2 firsts for piping! What a set.

  • I responded as directed from the band! First Skeabost seems more likely for starters. That looks more MacDonald territory! I pass!

  • I am a MacLeod and have never heard of MacLeod of Skebost....I am pretty sure the tartan is MacLeod of Harris 'weathered'

  • About time this band was made G1!!!!

  • They've had that drum corps for two or three months and they sound like that if they had been together longer htey would be looking at G1

  • Dont get me wrong they have a good sound and good luck to them.If their drum corps starts gettin in the top 6 they may even do some damage and for the record, i do play in the same grade and my band finished higher than GS..so there !
