I'm an American and I've never heard of the stereotype that English/British people like their beer warm.
-
it was -5 this morning and last year in the winter i remember it being about -7 most mornings fucking hell it is tough surviving in the car waiting for the heating to heat up!

@mkarmam I live in America, I love Sierra Nevada, Longboard and Sam Adams stuff. I was talking about more generic commercial junk like you mentioned.

@Vicfangio Tasted dog piss eh? ;)
-
@Liethen You live in a different country. That's like someone from the Antarctic saying "HURR, YOU FIND 5F COLD? THATS A SUMMER DAY FOR ME! HURR!" etc. In the UK I'd say 3 and below is bitterly cold, yes.

@Vicfangio You need to try something other than the popular stuff then (Miller, Budweiser). There are a ton of great micro breweries that make awesome beers.

0-6 C bitterly cold? Thats only 32-43 F. I live in a windier area and dont even change from shorts to pants until it gets below freezing. I think the belief that britain is cold is due to the summers being much cooler in britain than in america. In much of america the summer temperatures tend to hover around 30-40 C. A good example being north west Oklahoma, where the summer will tend to be about 45 C every day, all day.
