Though you might not know it to look at this beautiful Boxer /Pit mix, Daphne is 8 years old. And like the quote above, this girl would fit well in any home. She arrived as a lost soul when an Animal Control Officer brought her to the shelter on September 13, 09. Daphne had some scars on her back and paws indicating she's not always led a pampered life. However, this sweet natured girl is as well mannered, gentle and friendly as if she had been the favored pet of a princess. Some dogs are just born sweet through and through and I think Daphne is one of these. She passed all her temperament tests with A+ scores, showed tolerance of being held, took treats gently, did not guard her food bowl and was generally as nice a lady as you could possibly meet. I hope that no one will judge her acceptability as a family pet based on her age. She has many more happy years of life to look forward to and I think she deserves to spend them in a loving home. She does not have the energy level of a youngster, but for many people this is just the kind of dog they are looking for—sweet, laid-back, mellow & comfy....sort of like a favorite old chair . Spead of which, I am sure Daphne would just love to cuddle up on an old chair or couch with you on the upcoming cold winter nights!
