worlds largest polar bear

This was done to show the relationship in size between this 11ft. 8in. tall bear. It must have been an incredibly scary sight for any Eskimo who's average size was around 5ft. 4in. This bear could outrun any human quite easily. In this part of the world there is nothing to climb and nowhere to hide. This bear can be seen (stuffed) at the Carcross Museum about one hour from Skagway Alaska.

Hi Killer,

yes, the bear was real (It is now stuffed and in a museum in The Yukon) It was purported to be the world's largest Polar Bear. It was 11 feet 9 inches tall. The natives involved in this picture were put in to show the difference in size of the people.

I don't know how the bear died.

There a Polar Bear killed in the 19th century that was something like 5ft. 5in. high at the shoulder, 11ft. 11in. long, and weighing 2,207 lbs.
