SUMMARY

Maple is currently a 1697 ELO League of Legends player (most players are 1200 or lower) and a member of one of the better-known guilds in Guild Wars 2 and has also sponsored $1400 towards a guild in Dragon Nest. As such, a fairly good person to talk to about where eSports sits in the MMO gaming community and has some insights into what the midset of players might be.

Especially interesting is the whole attention to "deception" and tactics when it comes to LoL gameplay. In many MOBA-style games, especially LoL, the ability to catch the enemy off guard is as important a trait as anticipating the next move they'll make. Move and counter-move are the words of the day of professional and semi-professional MOBA gaming.
