Skyrim on Ultra - Radeon HD 5830 ~40 FPS

Showcasing the 5830 with Skyrim on Ultra. It plays pretty well, and even better while fraps isn't on. Still, I don't see a difference between High and Ultra with Skyrim.

@snowmobileracer69 1440 x by something. 5830 supports ati eyefinity though, but I probably wont be able to test it on multiple monitors. I'll do another test with the graphics card with a higher resolution in a few months. I'm waiting for the modding pack to come out so I can test some mods out.

@dilzo999 Likely. If I was you I would probably avoid the 5830 since the 7970 is coming out soon and the card will be a bit outdated and it may not be able to be bought anymore. If you want for sure ultra, I would go with a 6870, or something in the 6700+. Depends on your resolution.

@PDPking908 5800 series are not much different from the 6700 series. There is no major increase between the 5 and 6 series until usually the end of the series. The 6770 should be able to run on Ultra, definitely high, at a playable fps. Do you use a laptop? Make sure the graphics aren't the imported intel graphics from the processor.

I'm going to buy the 5830 and an AMD FX 4100 would I be able to play it on ultra/high?

sometimes your laptop uses the intel hd graphics instead of the discrete so check if that's the problem
