American bebop and West Coast jazz trumpeter, singer, and actor. Sheldon appeared in an Oscar-nominated documentary film Let's Get Lost about the life of fellow jazz trumpeter Chet Baker. 18 years as musical director, comedian and musician on The Merv Griffen Show. He also made numerous appearances on the 1967-70 version of the Jack Webb NBC series Dragnet. Guest Starred in The Simpsons. Jack played the trumpet solo for "The Shadow of Your Smile" theme on the soundtrack of the movie, The Sandpiper which starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
