I bought her albums before anyone knew who she was ... I had them all converted to CDs. She took a song and made it her own ... soulful, deep and absolutely wonderful! A talent taken from us way too soon.

This is almost supernaturally luminous and exquisite. I saw Laura at the Fillmore East a couple of lifetimes ago. I know she was dying, receiving chemo when this was recorded. She holds that last note like she held on to life. Matchless, radiant, beautiful beyond mortal hope.

@mgo8888 ... I have a friend who "grew up in a black neighborhood" and his weakness is "soul" music (one of mine too, by the way) when I "shared" this song with him he was "floored" ... he loved it ! ... Laura was very talented ... and ... thanks !
