Here is a short video of what to do if you strip your screws while removing your hard drive from the PS3. So try this before you drill or try to cut the screws off the mount or case what ever you want to call it.

NOTE: before you take your stripped mount with the old HD in it to a computer store, where they tend to lie to you saying it would cost a lot of money to get the screws out or take a lot of time to fix as you can see it only takes mintues. Try my method first! Good luck and thanks for watching. Also the sound at the end of the video was cut off sorry.

If you liked the vid & it saved you cash feel free to donate a few dimes my way threw paypal: Gundamzeppelin@aol.com

  • Try bigger needle nose? I never had an issue with the big blue screw. DX

  • so how do you get the other sides out theres a little ledge thing making it impossible to turn the pliers

  • @ExiiLeDGaMeR the same way, it's just WAY harder :/

  • This works on PS3 slim hard drive cases, right?

  • @INumquamI yes it dose.

  • You have helped more ps3 users than you know! I have been spending about an hour so far trying to get these goddamn screws out and they are all stripped, I tried about 3 different screw drivers. I will try your method right now!

  • @level27xrock I'm glad my video could help.

  • good tip. the upside of making screws out of such pathetic, soft metal is that you can grip it easily with some pliers.
