Tradition and Innovation
The Beretta semiautomatic UGB25 Xcel features an innovative locking system with break-open barrel that allows operation in complete safety during competitions. Unlike conventional fixed-barrel semiautomatic shotguns, this new type of break-open design enables the shooter to move from one firing station to another while allowing others to see the gun clearly in "safe" mode with an open action. The second round is not hidden from view inside the magazine tube, but is always visible in its side cartridge carrier. The low-set single barrel offers the advantage of maintaining the same point of impact of the second shot exactly in line with that of the first shot, thus ensuring excellent performance.
The trigger plate is made entirely of high-strength fiberglass-reinforced technopolymer and features self-lubrication of the firing mechanism, good vibration absorption and thermal stability for improved feel in cold weather. It is designed specifically to optimize the ergonomics. The safety button is in the standard position (for right-handed use), but it may be reversed for left-handed use by an authorized Beretta gunsmith or by the Beretta Customer Service.
The Beretta break-open semiautomatic UGB25 Xcel features the unmistakable touch of Giugiaro Design.
The ergonomically rounded back of the light alloy receiver fits smoothly into the stock, allowing quick and instinctive target acquisition.
The streamlined receiver and the newly-designed fore-end with its extended checkered configuration combine to give the Beretta UGB25 Xcel an extremely attractive look.
The cross locking bolt of the break-open barrel is located at the top near the back. On the left is the opening lever and on the right the cartridge carrier and the second cartridge feeding port.
The ejection port is located underneath.

  • @jsmallwood2007 I can't comment on your rifle analogy as I know little about rifles. But I can't see how using a UGB25 would be 'legally cheating'? Yes it has its advantages but it has disadvantages - such as only being able to have one choke fitted. Each gun has its pros and cons and the only way we could eliminate them from the equation is if we all used the same gun in a competition.

  • @CeeJay1972 Personally I'm quite taken with this gun and hope to add it to my Beretta 682 E Gold and Beretta AL391 Urika.

  • i have the ugb25 sporting edition and learned something from my girlfriend for female shooters. daisy dukes and sandals arent good shooting attire for this gun lmmfao

  • wait the guy talking was wrong, because at 1:36 - 1:40, the shells dont eject toward your left, they normally eject toward your right when shooting. derr

  • The fat guys saftey wasn't on... smart.

  • Me likey. Although a 1.6-2k semi would more than likely fit my bill just fine, i personally feel that uniqueness and intriguing design are worth at lease descent value.

$4k however, is a bit steep for a gun that only provides an edge in very select markets. (Euro bunker shooters, pheasant hunters etc.)

    May i add, BEAUTIFUL (IMO)

  • why cant i be a shooter reviewer?
