im not goth but i love the culture...i just never brought it into my life style and stuff...what's weird is that ive had people tell me i'm goth...it just shows how stupid this generation can be cuz they dont know what goth is....i like the music and the culture...and I love Manson even though i never really considered him goth compared to other bands

@joaniecheriezz The thing is, you really don't have to LOOK Goth to be Goth. There are many Goths who wear jeans and a band shirt. You can be Goth without looking like Robert Smith or wearing black all the time.

@DeathlyNightshade well, yes, i know that...that goes for anything....I meant people think I'm goth based on my appearance (their first glance at me) which is why i said they don't really know anything (because im the type to just wear jeans and a band shirt)...but yes i know that you don't have to look like robert smith or wear black all the time...I guess i kind of am..but not what my peers think goth is

I kind of hate Goths who bad-mouth Manson. I'm 15, Goth, and I listen to Alien Sex Fiend, The Cure, Bauhaus, Christian Death, Specimen, and Voltaire...but I adore Manson with all my heart. Almost everyone immediately thinks I'm a poseur who knows nothing about the Goth subculture as soon as I say I love him, his band, and their music. I don't care, because I grew up listening to his music and I'll never stop.

@ModelNumber15 I'm the same as you. I really loved Manson when I was growing as a Goth, I still like him but he's not as important to me anymore.

My friend, on the other hand, really really loves him.

@ModelNumber15 I love manson too, but I know someone a "mallgoth" as urban dictionary calls it...Who adores manson too. The thing is Marilyn Manson is remotely the only "gothy" artist he likes, what pisses me off is just how close-minded he is, he likes all industrial/heavy metal and bad mouths the more traditional goth music like The Cure or Bauhaus, he calls it shit and dismisses it instantly. But I don't see anyone bad mouth his taste in music. -_-

why now would anyone be Goth and listen to Manson ?Ask most older Goths who been around and they will either go Manson who or say he sucks .I was once a huge fan but personally he is dull and boring he hasent been good since the 90's.

joan Manson isn't Goth he himself has said it .What ties him to Goth is their early live shows Goth was what showed up .This was the spooky kid day's .
