It really shouldn't matter about race all the time. And yes blacks go to college & get degrees. Whites go to college as well and can be accused of illegal drinking, committing crimes, rapes, killing the kids & so forth. There are White gangs. What the Aryan Nation suppose to be? They most definately not Asians. Take away the race and look at the facts sometimes. Then you're get a better understanding of the person speaking and how the justice system can work.

Quit blaming and take action for your ownselves. Why are your kids getting into gangs and lured by gangs in the first place?! Parents arent setting limits, instilling morals, values etc, etc. Not making their kids feel good about themselves. You need to give your kids a sense of hope, instill values, and be an example to your kids. Stop blaming whites, the schools, etc etc. Step up and be a parent!!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with the way this lady says that if it was white kids the police would do something. I was born and raised in Durham, on Briggs Ave and it is unfair to make this a racial issue. Durham has a serious problem, but it's not the polices or the whites to blame it's up to the parents to teach their children the right way. I will contiue to pray for Durham and will help to make a difference in any way I can.

she is wrong . i am from durham ! i think shes racest to tell the truth . it was a black person that killed her son so why did race have to come in to play at all ? it does not really matter the color of the person that dies its the fact that the gangs have grown in size . i worked in a very bad part of durham and have seen this first hand . we all have good and bad in our own race's but for no reason should a 14 year old boy get shot down in the street . i hate to see a place like durham fall

I think that, even while different parents emphasized different things this video did a good job of presenting crime as due to multiple factors, including personality, genetics, environment, opportunity, poverty, parents, race (it's not PC but it's a fact that historically, perps, regardless of race, are persecuted more harshly when the vic is white, not b/c they are white, per se, but b/c whites tend to have more socioeconomic capital than blacks. YMMV on how much that is whites' "fault").
