Load of bedding on Cottons Universal.
When you start a cycle, the load sensing phase senses the absorbency rate of the clothes, and along with the load weight sensor the appropriate cycle is selected. I.e. a larger load will have a longer cycle time, a medium load a medium time, a small load a quicker time - this works on a sliding scale with about 5 cycle lengths available.
This set of videos demonstrates the "Extra Short" cycle, which is often selected when washing either small loads, or full lightweight loads such as bedding. The wash time decreases, and the rinse and spin profiles are altered on the basis that a less absorbent load doesn't need as much rinsing & spinning.
This video shows the wash phase, which is approx 30 mins long, versus 45 mins for a heavier, more absorbent load.
compliments :-)
