? for you. what did you have to do for the clutching on the snowmobile and the driven pully on the gear case. did you use the stock driven clutch on the gear case or the one from the snowmobile. cause i just got a 1983 6x6 argo and wanted a bigger motor c ause the stock tecumseh 16hp is not enough for me.

It has a belt cvt just like a snowmobile. It is not pneumatic. Any chance you have some photos of how the engine I mounted?

horrible place for an exhaust says I....

how come it sounds so bad..? i have an 82 and it sounds alot better then that one.

@2dazed the only thing that would foul out the plugs is letting it idle to long or having to much oil in the gas, being steady on the gas has nothing to do with the plugs! u haveto learn how the 2 stroke motors work man

@cjmotorsified lol i know he looked like a dick
I have a Argo 6x6. I also am working on putting a rotax 440 in it. Can you show how you mounted that engine?

It's deep in storage 'till next spring now, but I recall it was simply a couple plates of steel welded on to the frame edges vertically, and bent over where the engine bolts on. Probably just a matter of setting the engine in on wedges until it everything lines up, then take measurements.

I checked the number stamped on the trans with the Argo plant and they said it was a 1976. I'll have to assume it is the original trans that came in the Argo as there is no identifying numbers on the seventies frames or bodies.
Oh, and don't let that hood fool ya. It's an original 60's fiberglass Argo hood salvaged from my parts machine.
The Rotax once powered a mid-seventies Ski-Doo Futura.

I have a cold air intake duct from the side grills and the hood is turned backwards to allow the warm engine air to exit the engine bay efficiently. And if it still blows up, I have a liquid cooled 440 sittin' on the shelf ;)
