the fact that so few players even come close to his skill is testament to how special he was. He came into the league when i was 3 or 4 as well and adored him... sculpted my hockey style after him (well, my offensive side :P)

One of the all-time greats and a travesty that he is not in the hall of fame.

i don't think anyone will argue against Bure being a better goalscorer. But they were different types of players. Gretzky is the "Great One" for a reason... but Bure's hockey skills (speed, shot, stickhandling) unparalleled in my mind.

@gd6noob dude i love bure, but no1 will ever touch his records.. even when he was at his best he got 60 goals.. gretzky had 92 in his best season. its not even bure's fault, he was better in my mind, but it was a different game by the 90's, goalies better def better etc
