  • Dec 8th, Jacob Rogers, Tennessee Teen, Commits Suicide After Years Of Anti-Gay Bullying

I agree, just as long as it is not enforced so as to discriminate against and oppress people simply because of their religious beliefs, as many would do.

  • @cda76er We don't. What we need is for the current law to be better enforced.

  • @freakylocz14

So why do we need another law?

  • @cda76er There are already laws on the books that allow for the collection of damages for the intentional infliction of emotional distress.

  • @freakylocz14

There are already laws on the books, as well as school policies which bar this. The problem is that some people hold that the mere expression of disapproval of homosexuality or even the mere fact that bible-believing Christians disapprove causes "emotional distress" in people on the pro-LGBT side. This is where the anti-bullying thing goes too far and the supposedly-oppressed become oppressors.

  • @cda76er Bullying shall be defined as intentional acts of harassment that is targeted at a specific individual or group of individuals that is intended to intimidate, belittle, or otherwise cause physical harm or severe emotional distress upon the victim(s). Notice how the terms "hate" or even the fact that the victim is gay is mentioned.

  • @freakylocz14

What do you believe the law should be in this area, then?

  • @cda76er I oppose hate speech laws. I am; however, in favor of laws that are content-neutral.

  • So you want to make anti-homosexual speech illegal "hate speech". Does this mean you want to ban the Bible and punish Christians who believe what it says? If so, then you are just as much an intolerant hater as anyone on the other side.
