@wjb67ii That is fantasy, God is the consuming Fire. Go read Romans Chapter 5, Jesus has saved us from God's wrath. Hell is being seperated from God's goodness and grace and being subject to his anger and wrath. That is the Biblical God.
Hitchens still bases his view on the idea that the "torture" is being done by Godin response to unbelief. This is untrue. The concept of hell is based on one's final and total rejection of God. God allows one to freely make that choice. The "torture" we hear about, the gnashing of teeth and weeping etc. is not God's punishment so much as one's own response to the realization that they have rejected God. It's never ending regret. Not God's doing...but one's own free choice.
I think the producers were trying to make the clip interesting (not manip). He gave them the perfect movie moment. We both know his side of the story on the issue of morality. Before I was a Christian, I was afraid to die. Not anymore. I was afraid to die before b/c I didn't know the truth about God; never studied it in much depth. Now I have so much peace about the future and when/where I die. I'm 100% sure I'm going to Heaven. I still cry when I get a booboo, though. lol. It hurts!
"Sharpton / Hitchens debate - Can morality exist without God?"
Hitchens is not cut off in such an editorially manipulative way in this video.
If you have an open mind, you will listen to what he has to say instead of clinging so desperately to the fear of death. (Do you remember before you were born? It was blank, right? What if death is just like that?)
Yes I have. I believe there was no life on planet Earth before Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth." There a good reason why I believe that; there's no proof. Have a great day!
I've seen this clip before. The producers cut off Hitchens, not the people who uploaded this video. Thank God they did. Listening to Hitchens in this debate was one of the most painful, painful experiences of my life. He appeared desperate to stay in front of a camera, blathering anything inflamatory to stay relevant. At the end of the debate he's recollecting a conversation w/Dawkins where's he says he wouldn't wipe religion off the face of the planet. The decade of New Atheism is OVER.
@MegaSensimilla The book of Romans chapters 1-3 answer those questions. Do an exegesis.

Was this edited by the people who work for Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity?
Let Hitchens respond.
It's horrible by our modern sense of morality. Simple answer
