  • Awesome chess set! Why did you say "a berserker biting his shield in a narcotics fuel'd rage" did they use drugs(thought it was just rage/alcohol)?

I know it's not really your kind of thing, but would you consider making a video debunking the Ancient Aliens series?

  • @JustaEropeanGuy Thanks for your Comment!

Yeah, apparently Bezerkers would feed extremely powerful mushrooms to reindeer and then drink the urine which was expelled... It sounds foul, but it was the only way to 'safely' ingest the plant matter and gain its 'benefits'! Eventually the practice was phased out though as it was hazardous to EVERYONE, not just the intended victims! haha.

Re: the other... I must ask 'Ancient Aliens Series'?

    Thanks again!

  • @Archaeos0up The History channel ran a series(think it was a series) called Ancient Aliens(google it).

It was utterly awful, I just thought you'd care to make a comment, even debunk it.

  • @JustaEropeanGuy Whilst this does look interesting, for whatever reason I cannot seem to find copies of the programmes!

Might I recommend Archyfantasies... She is very good at this kind of thing! (see my recommendations on the Channel Home Page!)

  • how much are these worth if you found a real 1

  • The round markers look like they were possibly draughts/checkers pieces. They appear to be around the same diameter as the chess pieces and could be playable on the same sized board as the chess pieces. I know the game of draughts was around at the time period that the pieces are attributed, but I'm not sure if it was known this far north at the time. I would imagine it probably was since it was being played in France since at least 1100 CE. Very cool pieces, it's a shame there's controversy.

  • a most interesting upload, thanks again.

  • As a chess player I have a great interest in these as it helps date the introduction of chess into Europe.

  • This is one of the most fascinating finds.
