Music matters in the OR. Its a way to get your mind and body ready to do some act that you have to do at a very high and intense level. Research supports that shows that surgeons benefit from music in the OR. Viktor Krebs MD is more on edge when there is no music on; when the music is there it sets the grove. While some critics say music is districting and can increase room for errors. Dr. Krebs says that theirs a simple solution, a dial.

  • when I had my 1st VP shunt replacement in '93 they were listening to an Oakland A's game on the Radio in the O.R. didn't hear ANYhing being played during the 2nd replacement in 2012
