@visaman I take it you didn't notice what the sleazy guy was saying -- he wasn't giving her attention, he was making seriously insulting statements about a particular kind of employee. Try replacing "woman" in his lines with "black person" or "gay person" and see which of them sounds like the problem. Besides, shocking as this may be to you, most people feel that being insulted isn't preferable to being taken seriously as a co-worker.

i recall a sketch from the benny hill show. benny's character sexually harasses a woman whom he thinks is his workplace subordinate, but it turns out she's his new boss - - at which point benny's character proceeds to shrink.
