that is one cute linnie! my linnie is so grumpy... she is a handful sometimes! one thing i love about linnies is that they are so affectionate!

will your linnies let you pet or cuddle with them? I have a cockatiel and I have heard so many nice things about the linnie and considering getting one. However some people say they dont really bond with people easy? Is that true?

stop making the poor bird talk, becouse if the bird wanted to talk it would.

lineolateds are bigger... I think they're more closely related to things like Quakers and Parrotlets... Not sure on the technicals, but their personality is pretty different than the average budgie... and they cost about 10x as much...

omg, i have a blue one just like that!!.. .and a green one as well. I'm not sure if they like each other though, whenever they're together they mouth wrestle, which is supposed to be a way of playing, but my green one growls during it =S

Wow - I am really behind..
sorry about that!
A Lineolated Parakeet isn't really a parakeet .. it is more like a miniature parrot.. You could join the Yahoo Linnie Lovers group and find out even more. again, so sorry!
they make awesome pets, they can talk, oh.. soooo much fun!

growling can be a way of just being silly, but it can also be a warning signal to the other bird -
mine doesnt growl much, but sure does put up a ruckus if anyone bothers her. They pretty much leave her alone so that she doesnt growl at them. ;-)

She is so cute! I saw your post on Lineolatedparakeets at Yahoo Groups and came to look. I have a new green Linnie, Merry Mac. I'm working on "I love you. and Good Morning." We have a couple of parakeets...so I don't know how long it will take until she says something, but we'll see!

Congratulations on your new baby, and I like that name! I have hand raised quite a few of them, most of them learned how to talk but there are some that are on the quiet side. I am still working on this little one, but she has a smaller lower beak - but, I wont give up... I know she is trying.
