@Lolzilol123 Wow, let's hope this makes F1 interesting again and I hope Charlie Whiting looses up some of the rules.

@sookster54 It seems it's been decided - for 2013, it's turbo-charged I6's.

These were very fast cars indeed, I grew up watching the turbo era. I've been hearing that F1 might go to V6's soon, I'm hoping turbo charged V6's but the way the F1 FAA is these days I highly doubt that, F1 sucks right now as is.

The Ferrari 126 C-2 drived by Gilles Villeneuve was more faster than Renault RE-30B. Ferrari had over 620 cv on qualify, 580 cv on race; Renault had 600 cv on qualify, 560 on race. Anyway, those cars was extremely dangerous to drive: engines was very powerful, difficult to control and the strong ground-effect denveloped by the cars can kill you if you did an acccident...

Give me the chills!

this car was very, very fast...but so unreliable
@billaggio
Seriously,having watched most of the onboard clips of F1 cars from this era on youtube,i can honestly say that this is my favorite.
It is obvious from the revs and engine note that there is so much more power available that the chassis just cant handle.
These cars were basically dragsters that could corner and i would like to see all aspiring F1 drivers undergo some sort of initiation in a mock up of a turbo era car before being issued with a superlicence.

@TheVimtoMoustache Lewis Hamilton drove the Senna´s 1988 McLaren - the last turbo era car. Hamilton stated: "Its amazing! (...) It´s nothing like the car i drive nowadays..." Indeed, there was no traction control, near no car set-up adjustments onboard, stick gear shift... It was just crazy, one hand in the wheel and thousand HPs at your back. =]

Steel brake discs and balls of steel.
Todays F1 drivers have carbon fibre balls.

@TheVimtoMoustache
I think todays drivers are more like to have cheap plastic balls :D
