  • Quite slow. Koopman usually plays very fast, especially if you compare this video response to the prelude pedaliter in the original video (see the box below the video).

But I prefer this recording. If you play it too fast it is just a mess of notes.

But it is obvious that Koopman is a Bach genius all of the additional ornaments are brilliant.

5 stars for Koopman and the Gabler organ at Weingarten :)

  • @Kirchenmusiker91, the problem with your statement is that Koopman plays with such heartlessness. Sure, he gets all the other details correct, but he plays with anti-feeling, a kind of emotional crushing void that sucks the life out of everything. Whenever I hear him for more than maybe twenty seconds, when I'm done I feel like I'm emotionally devastated.

  • This pedal solo in the beginning is in the french style con discrezione altough italian scribe,Koopman Knows exactly what he is doing here,he is aware and studied all the baroque music sources of the past

  • Like I said...I listened to rock and metal SONGS before.

So it's just habit to call it a song...jeez

  • 20 years classical music and u are calling this a song ... -.-

  • This is the song that turned me into a Bach and Koopman fan over 20 years ago.I had only listened to rock/metal music before.

The vol.2 CD is,THE best recording I have heard of this piece.

  • You're so right.. I like hearing this fast. Like in his video.

  • Klingt toll auf der Gablerorgel, mit den starken Zungen!
