Problem:
Students must pay $1700 per semester for meal plan
150 meal block, when converted to actual dollars is worth approx. $1200 dollars (60%) of University.
200 meal block, when converted to actual dollars is worth approx. $1500 dollars (30%) of University.
All 4 meal plans are worth separate monetary values, none of which are $1700 dollars
Solution:
- Abolish meal/point juggling system.
- Use strictly all points (not uncommon among college campuses)
- Use your id card as a debit card for purely point spending. 150 meal block students would buy $1200 dollars/points for their plan, 200 block students, $1500 dollars/points.
- If points run out, students could purchase more points through the University.
What happens?
- Because you have the money and Pioneer has an opportunity to get more money through your purchase of additional points - Pioneer must innovate their product. This means more cash registers open, faster lines, improved dining experience and fresher fruit.
- IWU students save hundreds to thousands of dollars over a 4 year period with this reworked meal plan.
