Green For The Gulf Benefit Promotion.

So as I said I've been super busy with numerous things and that was why I haven't updated Destiny Doesn't Lie as fast as I would have liked to and THIS is one of those reasons. I have bee organizing this benefit to raise money for those affected by the BP Oil Spill that happened months ago. It has taken up alot of my time to get this organized as I am the head of it all. This is something that just broke my heart; all of those animals that were covered in oil and all those families that lost their livelihood due to this. If you know me personally you know that sharks and turtles (and penguins) are my favorite animals ever and I often refer to sharks as my "shark friends" (you should see me durning Shark Week, I don't leave the TV) anyways, my friends and I created this organization "Green For The Gulf" to help raise money and after months of figuring out how we wanted to do this and discussing it over and over again we finally were able start doing and stop just talking. So THIS is what we are doing to help. My husband (along with his sister and his mother) own/run The Brass Pelican, a bar in Surf City, North Carolina and they have joined forces with our organization to host this benefit. Green for now, green for the future, Green for the Gulf. That is the motto for Green for the Gulf, an organization which was started to raise money to help aid relief efforts for those affected by the horrible oil spill along the Gulf Coast. This is a despicable manmade disaster that could have been easily avoided if our great country, US of A, was a little greener. If we don't want to see a tragedy like the Gulf oil spill again and want to preserve our land for future generations, green is the only way to go. From one coast to another we are fighting to keep our oceans and beaches clean!

@deviousrose Thank you so much Rosie. We've been planning this for a while now and so excited that it's finally here. Sad that this happened but we're not going to sit back and not do something when we can. Something I've wanted to do from the start of all of this was go down there myself and find a family that was in need and just get to know them, hear their story and help them out but my own lack of $ is why I wasn't able to do that, so we are doing this instead.
