Some background:
This is the second time that I have been to Great Wolf Lodge. The first time, I went on the Florider approx. 6 times, but never really did anything besides the "laying flat" surfing (i.e. no tricks).
This visit, I started doing the Superman trick (throwing the board out in front of you, then catching and getting back on). Then I added the barrel roll. But, that was about it.
Well, then I took the "Night Howler", which is an hour-long training session with one of the Florider "pros" (turned out to be a high school guy, coincidentally named "John". There was supposed to be another person in the class, but didn't show, so I had 1-on-1 training for an hour. This run was on the day after that training session.
I would highly recommend the Night Howler to anyone wanting to practice their tricks (or learn new ones). The added time on the board/water really helps you get more comfortable/confident. Plus, there aren't anyone to laugh at you when you wipeout...which you will :)
I have some ideas for my next visit...maybe a partial handstand on the board...not sure, will have to wait and see.
I about wiped out at 0:51, so thought I better stop the carving :)
