@Mezzo396 It WAS a dive when he went down he started to get up but then slumped to the ground like he was shot, classic dive right there.

I was 11 when Australia was at the 06 world cup and my hopes were always up.. But it wasnt until then that I actually realised Australia can compete at such a high level and they can take on the best in the world. 5 Years later I still love soccer and I hope to play for Australia some day but now what soccer/football has become is disgraceful if Italy hadn't have 'taken a dive' Australia I think would have won this match and possibly the Cup I truly believe they could have done that. ITAruinedit

@SeaRanger311 it wasnt a dive. we played poor in that match, the italians got a red card they didnt deserve and we still couldnt take advantage of that. they dominated us,

If aloisi had never gotten that Penalty my life would be a whole lot different, i would probably still be playing AFL and not know a thing about Football.
Because of our experience in the World Cup, i now play Football for a top league team, i am a regular in the Northern Terrace in Melbourne i havnt missed a game since 07' and i have been to many away games, i didnt even watch that penalty, yet somehow it completely changed my life!

It is pretty amazing that we came that close to taking down italy.
Aus had plenty of potential to win the world cup in 06 and we have an even better chance in 2010.
