This is the ice storm that wreaked havoc throughout Massachusetts, and the rest of New England this weekend and left me and thousands of others without power for days..

That is amazing. I don't have tv, and I don't usually watch/read the news online, so this was good to see. How long were you without power?

I was without power for 3 days.. It was pretty crazy, I've never seen anything like it before. There are still people without power right now and all the schools are closed for the week

It really does! it was soo so weird and annoying not having electricity.. no heat, hot water, lights or any way of even knowing what was going on around the world, I can't believe you never watch the news! I'd be pretty lost without that kind of stuff for a long time.. I had to wait about a half hour in line just to get gas from a town 25 miles away that had electricity, it was so ridiculous..

Yikes! NOW everything is frozen! The trees are covered in ice! Not snow, but ice! I didn't know something like that could happen =o

I personally get my news from the newspaper. It's quiet and I can control the input. TV is just so much noise, I have to leave it off.

Sorry you were without power. It does make one more conscious of one's normal blessings, however -- such as heat and electricity.

for me, out would come the chainsaw, ax, and pot belly stove..no way in hell i'd go without heat in those temperatures for 3 days..i'd open a window, run a vent right out the window, and duct tape the gaps shut..heat is heat, even if it's a little smokey lol

I'm very glad you made it through safely - an ice-storm and 3 days with no power is extreme. I have never quite seen ice covering like that before. The branches and clothes line look quite fascinating like that. Beautiful but so bitterly cold
