In amongst all the mind-numbingly bad reporting last night, there were one or two gems. In this one, Simeon Brown of HYPE (Haringey Young People Enspired) gives a fantastic insight into the issues behind these riots.

Background Info
On Thursday 4th August 2011, a man called Mark Duggan was shot dead by the Police in Tottenham in north east London. He is the latest of several people to have been killed following encounters with the police.
For two days, the whole area was cut off while police carried out investigations. On Saturday afternoon, local residents rallied at the police station to demand answers to what happened.
The rally was peaceful but it seems there was somekind of incident. Rumours are circulating that the police may have struck a young girl. In any case, the whole area kicked-off into rioting and looting throughout the night.
Looting also spread to nearby Wood Green with a car set ablaze and some looting

@yossariancomplex PAGE 2/2... have the lowest crime rates in Europe. WHY? You cant keep avoiding these examples as well as the 1 where you can't name me 1 black community in the Western world with a low crime rate, AND then try to blame poverty again. You simply cannot tackle these 2 questions effectively. Also crime is very different now than it used to be, 1 major failure of the previous Labour government was that violent crime levels reached unprecendented levels

@yossariancomplex PAGE 1/2 .... LOL! As if these arseholes are trying to create an artistic observation of reality. They glorify &promote that shit. Yes you're right, fewer white middle class kids become hardened criminals when listening to hip hop but that's because they've been taught about morality under a different set of cultural values when they were kids. As for socially deprived areas, we're at that again are we? Are u forgetting the Greek &Portuguese examples? They are dirt poor yet...

I grew up in a town where almost everyone was white. There were fights every weekend between different gangs, drug dealing was rife, people were killed at my local. That was all white men, not an asian or Black among them. Now there is a lot more Blacks and Asian and the town is still exactly the same. You go on about rising crime but you never reference any of your 'facts' or 'statistics'. It's the same as its always been, robbing and dealing with riots every 30 yrs or so.

@PioDinata You didn't say you would chuck them all out, but would you? You already stated that Afro-Carribean culture is incompatible with white Eauropean- what's your answer to that problem? If the problem is Carriean culture then we need to find out what's wrong with it. So far as i can see, in Britain, white and black people listen to the same music, speak the same language, have the same religion, wear the same clothes. So what is the difference? They do have darker skin...

@PioDinata You really know nothing about Hip Hop. Violence in music reflects violence on the street, not the other way round. Hip hop makes money from white middle class kids- why don't they become hardened criminals? Because they don't live in areas of social deprivation. Blaming a type of music for violence and ignoring all other social factors is rediculous. Which is more plausible- that social unrest occurs because of depleted resources and povert or becuase of 50 cent?

Telling me about the BNP and the dangers of my way of thinking is not relevant here.
You need to free yourself of your numerous taboos and hangups. Personally I tend to approach things from a rational / factual pov and the censorship be damned.
So having done that we are back to.

I work for an investment back so I think my IQ must be touching 100.
Im juggling um-teen things at the same time.. Many of which are slightly more important than this online conversation. i.e. phone calls, several computers and you.
I have sworn off having these types of conversations online because they take too long.. Much too long. You are free to check though my posts.. The current sequence of posts is an aberration. One which I am not too fussed about TBH

@itsdastuff To be honest mate with the way you attempt to construct sentences i'm not sure that your IQ is above 100. What does: "You were demanding an answer so I am looking for your inference from the fact of non peaceful communities not principally a statement about unknown others" mean? The sentence doesn't make sense. Try again and speak in a simpler, more natural way because it's clear you don't have the grasp of the English language to construct complex sentences.

@itsdastuff SO? LOL it's precisely that sort of attitude that leads to racism. I MUST make this clear, I'm NOT a racist but in 30s Germany the evil men that were Nazis were able to capitalise on the the feelings of injustice within their community to manipulate people &spawn evil. By saying "so what if they're causing crime, murdering, jacking, rioting?" regular people will eventually turn to groups like the BNP because nobody else will listen to their fears. That's a dangerous attitude u have
