@Wrongstatementsclear yeah i reason is that when he killed himself Hitler proved he was a coward and showed others what his true colors were, so they were not ready to fight and die for someone like him, who had steered them wrong. leaving innocents to the mercy of their enemies, so this general ordering a ceasefire is as heroic as it is sensible, also we always beleive that all Germans were evil for their actions, but when we see this scene, faith in man is restored

@Wrongstatementsclear i agree, many of the ss and their leadership were either dead or had fled, the German army itself and what little remained stayed to hold the city, defend the civilians, and try to push back the Russian advance. while Germany was guilty of many things, in those last few hours many of the last members of the third Reich, demonstrated the difference between a German and a Nazis, cowardice and valor, it's a shame so many didn't show these same traits

@NanKingRaddish well she knew what fate would await her and her family becasue Gobbells was guilty of war crimes, genocide and was a murderer, becasue they didn't want the Russians to kill them, and also to avoid any semblance of guilt or otherwise, to escape their fate they killed their own children, like the cowardly scum they were. many of those who took the cyanide or shot themselves was becasue they feared the punishments for their crimes, like Hitler they were cowards.
