@MarkDavis94 down and upstrokes. you really gotta take time working on your alternate picking/strumming at a slower pace than that of the song if it feels too fast for you at this point. Sit with a metronome and work your way up practicing sixteenth and eventually thirty-second notes. The only way to build up your speed gradually and effectively is with a metronome and good practice
