An estimated 140,000 Burmese refugees live in camps in Thailand near its border with Myanmar, or Burma. The IRC, at work in Thailand since 1976, is aiding nearly 70,000 of them. In this segment of IRC Voices, Helen Samuels, a young Burmese refugee, shares with us pieces of her journey from harm to home. Helen says that the IRC has given her the opportunity of a new and better life. Her dream now is to return to the border and help her fellow Burmese refugees.
