Primitive Reflexes - Suck, Root
There is some sucking but it is not as vigorous or sustained as it should be. The pacifier can be easily pulled from the mouth. There is no root reflex, which is a definite abnormality, and this baby has had problems with feeding

  • @janineaaaaaa He may just be immature born, no further conclusion can be drawn from such a simple test.

  • Goodness, this baby looks abnormally ''passive''..the eyes rolling, no suck or root reflex..poor kid...wonder what will become of him/her when he/she grows up.

  • Why did he fail all the tests? What developmental delays does he have? Palsy or autism?

  • All of your videos - the normal and abnormal neuro exam of newborn very helpful to me. I do not get to see enough newborns and have not yet seen any abnormal neuro infants so this will help me tremendously. Thank you instructor (and babies, too!)

  • !!omg!!! poor baby!!!
