question how does one know weather the music is mambo or salsa sometime people don't know when to dance on 1 or 2.. so its becoming a huge issue in the ballroom and latin dance schools. and these russians are messing the latino dances up and making steps up. they are not delivering the right informaiton there are so many bastic steps u have mambo and salsa steps that are the same but the timeing is different. than salsa night clubs

"mambo" is a beat like "cha cha" and "bolero"--"salsa" is a generalized term for latin music that could include all three. It takes listening and practice.

Yeah, Tito is one of my musical heroes. I got to play opposite him at Salsa Meets Jazz at the Village Gate in Manhattan about 15 years ago.
