i recently rediscovered this studio version after listening to the Holland songs mostly on the "in concert" album, but the voices on this are sublime. i can't get over the backing vocals, from the way they come in suddenly near the end of the second verse, till the end of the first half. any way of isolating the back track to hear them more clearly? backing vocals on some of the other Holland tracks are incredible too, some of the very best.

Thank God that Mike Love had nothing to do with this song!

is all the bass on Holland a moog bass?

Jack Rieley is still something of a controversial figure, but some of the BB's best stuff were those with his collaborations--this is only one of them.

@crucivirgin Thank you for thinking of me. I've been sober for 28 days! Hey, didn't they make a movie with that title about staying sober? Sandra Bullock I believe. Anyway, thank you again I really appreciate it :) By the way are you "across the pond"? I don't know if they still say that in Britain or not.

Vocal, instrumental, and lyrical perfection resulting in another highlight from "Holland", another feather in Brother Carl's musical cap, one of the By God best Beach Boy tunes, damofino I Love This Song! Thanks to : YT for the space, caponazgul for the caring and sharing of the upload, and to Carl and the rest of The BOYS thanks for stayin' thanks for playin', and to think some people thought that they were only playing out the string in the 70's, to them: SHAME ON YOU AND SAT IT AIN'T SO,R O S
