Unfortunately, the movie doesn't live up to this trailer. It's kind of boring, nowhere near as exciting or original as the book. Lots of sex, but little genuine exhilaration of the open road, or thematic depth concerning America, or anything that I loved the book for.(And yes, I saw it, at a special screening at the IU Cinema.)

I got that feeling from the book. By the third part it really seemed as if he was searching for something, which is missing in the movie. Like it hasn't got any mention or hint of that at all.

The film is not a good adaptation. I wouldn't say it is an abomination but it has that "something" missing. And yes I have seen it.
