The desert of life with memories of people flaring up who were crucial to your life although you hardly knew them - like the one on the picture for me. Those short fleeting moments that burn into your soul where you have found what you will always want again - and never get.

When I saw your comment I only wondered how anybody in your beautiful country could feel anything like emptiness although I'm aware that the first reports of melancholia originate in Ancient Greece. Despite of that Greece and especially Crete represent to me the land of light and life....
