Speedway racing, Canadian Style???

Went to my first speedway meeting today. WOW was I in for a shock. No dirt or dust, all cars with mufflers, and they even had shiny paint jobs. Can't wait to go to TEPON when I get home to see some real racing.

That's what I tried to tell them. They spun out when I told them the cars were so quiet. People were wearing bloody earmuffs for christ sake. Was fun to watch the utes though, they go preaty hard.

Dirt racing is the best for sure. Asphalt is for getting to the racetrack......dirt is for racing.

Yeah bit like the Thunderdome in Melb. but on a much smaller scale (except Bob Jane hasn't run it for years and there's grass growing thru the concrete).

At least they're V8s and not pussy rotarys or something. I guess Canada would be like the US with plenty of V8s around?
