As the Supreme Court debates Proposition 8, arguments boil over outside.
On November 4, 2008, voters overrode the California Supreme Court by passing Proposition 8 defining marriage between a man and a woman. In the days after Prop 8's passage, several lawsuits were filed to challenge the validity of Proposition 8. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on March 4, 2009 - and both sides came out to express their passions.

@MaryWaterton all the fags are going to heaven and will be in God's good graces, while you, I'm afraid, have a much harder road ahead - unless you repent and pray everyday for God's forgiveness, and start following the righteous path.

I, as an educated heterosexual male, am furious that there are not equal rights for gay and lesbian families. Freedom from religious persecution is part of America. I say that as a man who had bible school literally every day for three years, of my own choice. "The good book" should not be used to prevent rights. It is a guide for living your OWN life

@bndkllr2 legally.. because in America, everyone has the right to marry of the opposite sex. in other parts of the world, they say everyone has the right to marry who they love.
""it's not a good reason, but its America""

1. It Doesn't. i just help by being a good father to my children.
2. The Government cannot force you to marry.
3. My stance on marriage does not come from an archaic book.
4. I already know sexual orientation is not a choice, it is just something that can happen to you during puberty.
5. You actually do have that right, you can put anything you want on a ballot (Providing you have the required number of signatures).

Okay. So I'm not a fan of dude on dude, and I'm a little bit of a fan of girl on girl, but in all seriousness, if 2 people both want to be together, then why not let them? Who are we to say 2 people can't be together? Doesn't that go against the freedom in America? And for all you religious people, I understand you're god might think this is wrong. Then you live your life according to that. Don't force it on others. Let people do what they want. They are going to do it anyway.
