YouTube Fights Homelessness With Mark Horvath & InvisiblePeople.tv

This is the day when the YouTube community spreads the word on what it's like to be homeless -- and how together we can help effect real change for people with no where else to turn.

In this video Mark Horvath, founder of InvisiblePeople.tv rips through the numbers: - 50% of the homeless population are women and children. - 39% are kids under the age of 18 - more than a million foreclosures are expected this year

There is a "perfect storm of homelessness" coming. Soon! So let's start now. Share this video with your friends. Share one or two or ten of the videos on this page with your coworkers and neighbors. Spread the word. Fight poverty. End homelessness. Make the invisible visible.

Everyone on the streets has their own story, some made bad decisions, others were victims, but none of them deserve what they have been left with, and it is a reflection of our own society that we just leave them there.

Please always remember, the homeless people you'll ignore today were much like you not so long ago.

You need solid refrences it isn't enough saying some claim that the average homeless person is 9 years old or i've heard.

You need solid refrencing of respectable websites such as .gov

Great cause, but for the people who think these are just bums, you need to realize that (not saying all but) many homeless people are the results of either mental or physical handicaps. It is some of the hardest times right now to get a job of any kind as a prefect highly educated person, so you have to accept that some of these people may not have an even playing field. I do not mean to say everyone was not there out of their own doings (i.e. drugs etc) but you cannot assume the worst...

Hey Mark, love what you're doing here, but what I'd like to ask you to do is somehow put more info about the individual in a way where they can be directly helped. In my case, nj homeless, cause I'm intersted in helping someone by giving them a place to live. I have room for in my own place for someone and I'd be willing to share my home. Maybe somewhere you do this on your site, but I'm so horrible at navigating things on the internet, thanks

Do you retards really believe that 9-10% of people are jobless because they don't want to work? and many jobs don't pay a living wage anyway, there are many working homeless.

@citrine38 First off...prayers do go along way. and for all you disrespectful people out there that think you are better than us, you are WRONG! You don't know what its like to be on the streets with NOTHING. No family, no friends, no food, no resources. Getting harrassed every day by the police and having them raid your camps. Throw your only things around like its garbage, slashing holes in your tents and just trashing everything. It's not fun...it's not where any of us wanted to be.
