The Jack Benny Program - Jack Gets Robbed (2/3)

This is one of the funniest Jack Benny programs I have ever seen. In this episode, Jack allows a little girl to come up from the audience to get his autograph. As Jack asks the girl a few questions, her answers lead Jack to believe that she is the daughter of someone very important.

Between the little girl's answers and Jack's hilarious reactions, the enormous talent of Jack Benny emerges. What a master of timing and facial expressions he was.

The skit which follows is a hilarious exchange between Jack and Rochester, and Jack's various security devices to help prevent robbery.

That would date this show from Deceember 1952 with the reference to President Truman leaving office on January 20th. Great comedy here. Rochester is awesome!

oh yes...I loved the character and I also liked the way the writer's and Jack himself structured the show...the way they wrote the characters as all hating and despising Jack for various reasons. i have a few of Jack's radio shows and there was once a gimmick called the "I Can't Stand Jack Benny Because...." contest. On the air Jack pretended to be offended and insulted and then became agitated when Don announced that the winning entry would be read on the air by Fred Allen.
