Thanks for posting this one, quite the funniest Leslie Sarony song I've heard. Had the pleasure of meeting our Leslie when he was appearing in pantomime at Hull New Theatre in 1967. He gave me a signed photo which I treasure. His grand-daughter studied Drama at Hull University, but haven't heard of her since.
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I had no idea that the song existed. It's mentioned (and sung) in Harold Lang/Kenneth Tynan early 1960s radio play "The Quest for Corbett".
The mysterious "green, white and blue" runs as a theme through the whole play and is only at the end revealed to refer to Gorgonzola.
Naomi Jacob plays the eponymous Corbett. Perhaps I should post an excerpt or two on here as a response...
Thanks for posting, maybe this wonderful song will benefit from renewed interest after the recent airings on BBC London's Danny Baker show!

A friend had this on tape and would play it in the car on the way to school and went as far as singing it as a part of his music exam.

Very humorous! Do you have "In the Woodshed" by Sarony?
