We started the hike at Pali Lookout, went in and out of both notches of Pali Notches, then went up the "Chimney" section, a vertical "wall" just beyond a nub. Beyond the "wall" is a greener ridge that traverses up to the summit of Konahuanui K1. From there, we traversed over to K2 and descended the Konahuanui Trail to Pauoa Flats and ultimately down to Manoa Falls to complete our hike. I have to say that the Chimney section is by far the scariest and most difficult climb I've ever done. However, overall from start to summit, Piliwale Ridge is more difficult, but not by much!

@metasparks it gives another point of reference to where you are putting your feet, especially for small cracks and unreliable footing

Some dramatic hiking, not quite as dramatic as inception though

Dear intrepid hikers,
please consider becoming trip leaders for our very small but awesome non profit organization called Desert Survivors (mostly California deserts). I'll suggest you as (honorary members) at our next board meeting. Please write back. I'll keep a candle burning for you all.
Respectfully,
Martina Konietzny M.F.A. Volunteer Director

Great work! What's good rope to use for this hike? Why go barefoot instead of keeping your shoes with better traction on?
