I forgot that coming in like a train and hitting a guy from behind was legal....funny me..I thought you could literally break a guys neck...and that's why they give penalties for it when it happens on icing..or just plain hitting from behind
what hit are you watching?

@zeroceiling what hit are u watching?

typical Stevens......coming in fast from behind with no chance of Neely seeing him...and finished off with a nice elbow-straight arm to the back of the head / neck to Neely....yeah...real Hockey Hall of Fame move once again...

has there ever been a player that looks for the "legal" cheapshot, more than scott stevens?
-
totally clean. hard hit, but no chance to injure on that. he popped right up, as it should be.

@Zachisgod92 You're an idiot. Stevens played according to the rules. Back then, lateral hits were allowed as long as you kept your elbow down. Scott was a tough player and played right on the edge of being dirty, but rarely ever crossed it.
Lindros may have been genetically predisposed to chronic concussion syndrome. It ended his brother's career after 1 goal for the Islanders, but more study in that field needs to be done before we will definitively know.

@BoSoxnation1972 Slashing is a penalty.. So it's only right he should have gotten a call. People watch hockey to see greats like gretzkey, not dirtbags who use their d partners as screens while they leave their side of the ice to try and injure a star. Eric Lindros was twice the player Stevens was, someone should have ended Stevens career a long time ago for that hit.

@grimrabbi1 same goes with all great hitters from 80`s and 90`s....

If stevens was playing in todays rules he'd be suspended every game
