  • @jarabaa You may be right that the story is a real lived experience. im not absolutely certain as my opinion is not etched in granite. I'd say the one scene when Rolf emerges from a shallow earthen grave along with the ending when Guy lays down next the Rolf in his grave on pulls the covering closed over the two of them speaks for delusion. just what is real and what is delusion we can only guess. the story is presented to us through the eyes of Guy and delusion or not it is Guy's reality.

  • @unproudcitizen OK, thanks for that. Glad to know I'm an idiot ("couldn't be any less accurate") incapable of "original thought" who trusts everything on Wikipedia as "etched in granite". Anyhow, obviously I've watched the film. Guy seems to be an artist, and yes, is seriously disturbed; he lives in a cottage in the woods. He mentions escaping from a mental hospital. Rolf is a living character, not a "corpse". The plot appears to unfold as real lived experience, I would say - not a delusion.

  • @jarabaa Here is something for Wikipedia. For the actor who played Rolf, Piotr Stanislas, this movie was his only real success as a legitimate actor. His acting is superb as Rolf and it would be natural to assume that what followed was a successful acting career.for him. Piotr Stanislas continued to have a prolific career as an actor and with some degree of success and notoriety in the adult film industry. His filmography includes straight, gay and bisexual porn.

  • @jarabaa Dear jarabaa, I suggest you spend more time watching the movie in its entirety and less time relying on Wikipedia. Then maybe you will have an original thought and come to your own conclusion. Right or wrong you couldn't be any less accurate than the "blog" on Wikipedia. As you should know Wikipedia's information is only as good as the people choosing to edit and share information there. Wikipedia is not "etched in granite" with reader participation it evolves toward accuracy.

  • @unproudcitizen Hmmmmmm... that is a fascinating account of this film but it does not correspond to the "Wikipedia" entry, which says that Guy is a young "forestier" (forest ranger, woodcutter) who shelters an injured (perfectly alive) German soldier, Rolf. The two get to know each other and fall in love. There is no suggestion in other descriptions of this film that Guy is "schizophrenic", or that the German is a "corpse", or that the scenes are actually "delusions".

  • guy is schizophrenic patient abandoned by the staff of the mental hospital fleeing from the german soldiers. he finds a dead german soldier nearby and takes the corpes home with him.

The friendship and romance between guy and rolf (the corpes of german soldier) is guy's schizophrenic delusional realily

  • what is this
