@clliupal I think she meant that in real duels you can't have a simultaneous, you would just have two deaths, which is partly why right of way was created.

Could have also mentioned that falling short or retracting the arm can make you lose priority.
One bit is plain wrong. making a counter-attack (0:25) is not a "way of dealing with the opponent's blade" and does not change the priority. You need to parry-riposte.
Finally, you can get simultaneous hits in foil (1:37) if you cannot establish priority (e.g. with simultaneously inititated attacks) it's just that both hits are ignored (unlike in épée).

Could have been better explained by sticking to ther FIE rules.
1) Point in line takes priority.
2) Absent a point in line, first fencer to correctly initiate an attack (i.e. first start extending the arm with point menacing the target and then follow through with a lunge or fléche) has priority.
