You've got quite a bit of smoke, I think your wood might have been pretty damp.

Great review. I thought that I was the only one that used alcohol on my wood. I drip 10 drops on the wood and find that 3 oz of fuel lasts me about 30 fires.

This is one of the best Bushcooker videos I've seen. I just purchased one, an LT1, today. Looking forward to receiving it. Thanks for this video.

I think the windscreen is supposed to go with the holes toward the bottom.

@Staydownlowairsoft I purchased this stove directly from the guy that builds them. He taught me how to use everything personally. With the two tent pegs through the stove, the windscreen doesn't touch the ground.

I found that the alcohol does wonders when the wood isn't completely dry yet. To save space you can use the lid from a shoe polish tin to burn alcohol. It fits right underneath the bushcooker and works great.

@choltzapple The Bushcooker comes with a small tin that will hold an ounce of alcohol. It also fits conveniently in the top of the stove to use as a lid to keep things in the stove while it is packed.
It rained for 2 days out of the 5 on my recent trip and the wood I found was mostly damp. Just a few drops of alcohol was enough to keep the wood burning. I took 1 ounce for the trip and had plenty. I am only cooking 1 or 2 meals a day. My lunch meal was usually GORP and PB crackers.

How did you get the stove started? Looks like you packed the wood in and then dribbled alcohol over it.

@choltzapple Yes, I did put a small amount of alcohol on the wood. This will save time when you are trying to get your water going. I usually carry alcohol with me anyway as I have an energy drink can (redbull) stove that I use when I can't find dry wood. It fits right inside the Bushcooker and works pretty well.
