Weaning kittens as early as possible is very important, especially when the litter is large as was queen cat "Matahari's".Feeding 6 kittens from birth saps a lot of energy from the queen cat especially in Persians which normally have a small litter, maximum being 5.After birth, i personally saw that all kittens were equally fed by shifting the weakest kittens to the mothers teats.Strangely, Matata(Brown coloured) was aggressive right from birth, having been lucky to be alive since the mother had not severed his umbilical cord after birth and i had to do the needful as also with the rest of the 4 kittens. She only severed the "Birth chord" of her 6th and last kitten, also devouring the "Placenta", the only "Placenta" that she devoured of the 6 deliveries.
These kittens were weaned approx after 32 to 33 days from birth, being fed solid food along with their mothers milk.At 39 days of age 2 of the kittens were taken by the male stud cat owner and are surviving on normal food without the mothers milk.
Here these 4 kittens at 58 days of age are seen suckling , a habit, since they are now totally on normal cat food.
